Yea! He did it! What you ask? Well the armadillo slept the entire night in his own big boy bed. Good job armadillo! After returning from the hotel we thought it would be a good idea for the armadillo to transition straight to his big boy bed rather than go back to the crib. Since he was sleeping in a full size bed at the hotel we'd thought it would be easier for him to become accustom to at home. B-Dad slept with him the first night just to get the armadillo comfortable. Then last night we crossed our fingers and B-Dad took him into his new room. I was watching/listening on the monitor and wow, the armadillo had a couple of whiny "Daddy, Daddy" but settled down not long after B-Dad left his room. I think what really helped was having the armadillo's aquarium music thingy that we had hanging on his crib. It's from Fisher Price and it plays music, has a few fishes, bubbles, etc ... That was something he was used to so I think it assisted in making him feel relaxed. In addition we had two nightlights on because that room can be pretty dark so that was a plus.
I honestly thought it wasn't going to be this smooth but I'm thankful that it was. This morning B-Dad, myself and Kai went into his room to wake the armadillo up. We clapped and gave the armadillo huge hugs for sleeping in his big boy room (what we like to call it) by himself. He had smiles on his face and he appeared to be mighty proud of himself. It was a great moment. I wished I brought a camera in.
Another sweet moment with a bittersweet after taste ... my little baby boy is growing up ... I hate being reminded of that.
Okay, I know the post is about him, but the chubbiness in the background is the cutest thing ever.

Thanks so much! You know I never noticed the face the sumo baby was making back there. Gotta love that squishy baby fat!
