If you have little ones chances are the majority of them are obsessed with pushing buttons. Especially the buttons for the elevators. That's my armadillo. He fixates on these buttons from a mile away. The armadillo stores where every elevator's button is in every mall, building, etc ... away in his ever growing mind. He doesn't even have to see it but he knows from common clues on the path that a button is coming up. That being said you could imagine his reaction when he doesn't get to push the button. Oh it's like a nuclear explosion. You know what I'm talking about. If your child doesn't do it you know you've seen it in person in some mall, some office building, etc ...
Okay, so today we all head to the mall. Normally we would have gone to our playgroup's Halloween celebration but unfortunately the armadillo has been dealing with some serious phelgm and coughing issues, on top of that he had a slight fever this morning so we decided to forego the party. (Bummer!) A lot of people had rsvp'd that they were going and I didn't know the majority of them so I didn't want to bring my who-knows-if-he's-contagious child to the party and upset anyone therefore we stayed away. Getting back to the mall ... we were headed to the elevator in JCPenny's and I have the armadillo and the sumo baby in the stroller. I position the armadillo in front of the elevator button and he's stretching to try to push it. Then all of a sudden comes a little girl that moves in front of him to push the button. The mother was right behind her and says absolutely nothing. Well I'll be gawd-damn. So I just hmph'd andn walked in behind them into the elevator as they deemed to go in first. I position the stroller so it's in front of the elevator buttons. Instead of asking me to push a specific button for her, the mother just reaches across and pushes my stroller to push the button. Well gawd-damn again! I turn to her and say "You know I could have moved or pushed the button for you." She replies "Oh, it's okay.". Um yeah since you pushed my stroller with my babies in it ... yeah it's okay for you beeotch. Then I hear the little girl say "I want to push the button ... I want to push the button ... " Then I very visibly go over to the controls and push the buttons.
Take that you little imp.
