Oh someone help me. I’m obsessed with Panera Bakery and Café. I drag the armadillo and lil’ lamb there at least twice a week. I can’t help it. If you don't believe me, ask B-Dad. It is located in the same shopping area as Gymboree. So after armadillo’s classes we toddle on over to pick up sandwiches and pastries. The people who work there already recognize me or I should say, the armadillo. They are more familiar with the armadillo than with me of course.
Panera has an extensive sandwich, salad, and soup menu. B-Dad’s sandwich of choice is their Bacon Turkey Bravado. I usually get the Italian Combo and the armadillo has his Smoked Turkey Breast. I hear the salads and soups are pretty good as well. A huge plus for Panera is that they bake their own breads and pastries. I adore the Country bread. It’s a like a fancy version of white bread. It’s dense and moist. I also enjoy the Asiago demi. This bread is not short on asiago cheese, unlike other breads out there.
I have yet to try this feature but the location near me offers free Wi-fi. Maybe one day I’ll bring my laptop in. I can drink coffee and post on my blogs.
But my main compulsion at Panera is their pumpkin muffins and chocolate chip muffies. That’s not a spelling error, it’s actually called muffies. The muffies are like muffin tops, well sort of in my opinion. You have the crunchy top, but you still have the bottom like a regular muffin. The muffies are more like a flattened out muffin if you ask me. But my all time fave is the pumpkin muffins. They are moist and have a crisp top. It’s one of the few muffins that I am willing to eat the whole thing. Usually I eat just the top and leave the bottom. The chocolate chip muffies are wonderful. I enjoy the flavor of the chocolate. It has the right amount of sweetness without giving too much or having too little.
If there is Panera near you and you haven’t been there, why not?
In the immortal words of Kako from the Noggin show Oobi, ... “Perfecto”.
