Can You Understand the Words that are Coming Out of My Mouth?

I know I'll probably get flamed for this but this is just my 2 cents.   Why can I not get someone on the phone who understands English?    It seems lately that the number of places I call for assistance or to place a take out order can barely understand what I'm saying?    I find myself repeating what I say multiple times and it's frustrating.   I realize that America is the "melting pot" but can you please make some effort to understand English?   Or employers, if you are going to hire people to speak on the phone, at least get someone that can speak and comprehend English.   

I am perturbed that I have to say the same thing over and over and over again.  Today I was so close to telling the woman on the phone if I could speak to someone who understood English.   Don't get me wrong, I'm all for equal opportunity for everyone, but please, at what expense?    I was calling a restaurant to see if someone turned in my sweater and I had to repeat myself twice to the first person that answered the phone and twice again to the woman the original person put on the phone.   Ugh!    I just don't get it.    

Learn some English or get off the phone.    Hey this is just my opinion and I'm entitled.

Fresh Towels and Linen Daily Would Be Nice

Okay we've been at this hotel for a week now.    The house is still being worked on and it's filthy.   Sawdust covers the floors and my nose twitches everytime I go back there on an errand.   That leaves the family living in hotel rooms for a couple more weeks.    If you've stayed in a hotel recently you may have noticed signs indicating that the hotel will not change out towels and linens on a daily basis.    You as the guest either have to put the used towels in the tub or lay out a sign on your bed which denotes that you would like to have these changed out every day when your room is serviced.

I never really quite understood why hotels starting to do this.  Yes yes yes, I recognize that these hotels are "trying" to conserve water, save the environment, yada yada yada, but for me, this is one of the reasons why I enjoy staying at hotels.     I don't know about you but I do not change out my towels and linens at home on a daily basis.  That is why I pay the hotels to do it here.   Doesn't my daily rate of occupancy include fresh towels and linens everyday without killing off the rainforest?   A part of me thinks it's a ploy the hotels are trying to pull so that one, their water bill is cheaper, and two, their employees can get away doing less (a bit less) work.   I know bitchy bitchy.    But geesh I pay the full rate so I can reuse my towels and sleep on the same linen my baby spit up on.   No, I don't think so.

Diaper Bag Expert

Today we headed into Walnut Creek to do some general shopping.  Nothing important, you know, just looking around.   Of course we all head to one of my favorite stores Giggle.   Fabulous stuff, just terrific items for mama, baby and little ones.   Naturally I head over to the diaper bag selection.  I pick up a Skip Hop Dash in Kelly Green and peruse over it.    A salesperson comes over to me and starts to tell me all of the great qualities of the diaper bag.     "I know.", I tell him.   I own a number of these bags.  "Oh wow", the salesperson responds.   I then ask him if Giggle is going to carry the new Skip Hop Glam bags (shown above).   He wasn't sure what I was referring to.    Me, being the diaper bag addict, began telling HIM all about the bag, its features, etc ...

I think I should be the one to work at Giggle.     Hmmm ... nah, I'll just buy more bags.   

Convince Me Again

I am in a state of disarray and I need some convincing.   My hair is falling out, my scalp is falling apart, and now my vision is going bad.    I have been wearing glasses since I got pregnant with the sumo baby.   I read that being pregnant can affect your vision so I stopped wearing contact lenses.   Now that I've had the sumo baby I've tried going back to contacts.   But being on the breastfeeding brigade has taken another swipe at my essence.   The glasses I've been wearing are no longer up to par.   My left eye is blurry and my right eye is weak.   It's a pain and highly annoying.   

Contact lenses are not an option for me either.  I can only wear them for a couple of hours before my eyes feel as if I have someone's finger pressing on them.    Then when I take them off my eyes get so red I look like I've been smoking pot all night.   I must have made a great impression dropping off the boys at the gym daycare yesterday with my bloodshot eyes.  I could just imagine what the staff must have said ...

"Oh boy, we got ourselves another stoner mama ..."    

It's off to Lenscrafters this weekend ... is it still glasses in an hour?  I doubt it ...

I Want My Boys to Dress Like Tommy Lee

The local mall here sucks the big weiner.   I am a mama to 2 lovely little boys and I am limited to 4 at best, stores to shop for them.   There is Gymboree, Children's Place, the Gap, and sometimes Macy's.   But their selection is definitely not the greatest at times. Now I'm not a clothes snob or anything like that, but I don't really count Sears and JCPenny.   I like to buy hip and edgy clothing for my boys.   Therefore I'm starting to shy away from the Carters-esque designs which those stores heavily stock.   

I don't know why these big children's clothing/accessories retailers are unable to stock edgy clothing styles for boys.   I am so tired of the baseball, truck, dog, and dinosaur designs.   Why can't they offer clothing with skulls or Motley Crue prints?    Or some witty saying such as "Word to Big Bird".    I did manage to find some modish boys clothing from Old Navy.   Yes Old Navy.    They had fabulous onesies with sayings such as "Mommy is a Rock Star" and "Rock and Crawl".    Finally something with a bit of rebellion.   

Here's another one of those "If I had a million dollars to spend ..." scenarios.   I would open a trendy children's clothing and accessories store.    There would be equal clothing for boys and girls.  Well, maybe more boys than girls.  I'd also stock some fab stuff for mamas and mamas-to-be.   Speaking of, where are the diaper bags?   There are NO places in the mall to get some cool diaper bags.   Again, no offense to those of you that have those type of bags, but I'm just not into the "Pooh-ish" bags.   Sorry.   I just KNOW that there are mommies out there who think the way I do.   

If you are out there, let me know.   I think we should pool our disposable income together and open THE hip and stylish place for chic mamas to shop for their fashionable kids.    Ya with me?!
