Oh yes baby I saw the man, George Michael in concert last night and he can sing! I loved hearing his voice and seeing George reminding us fans that he can still shake his groove thing. Let me tell you, aside from the songs that I was not familiar with and the confusing arrangements on some other songs, it was the encores that twisted my insides into a nervous flutter. For his first encore he did "Praying for Time" and "Careless Whisper". I love love love the song "Careless Whisper" and hearing it sung live was pure bliss. His second encore was one of my favorites, "Freedom". I anticipated that it would be his last song and I was correct.
All in all I am so glad that my husband and I got to see him perform. We had awesome seats and at times I felt like I could actually touch him. The stage design almost, and I say almost outshone the performance. I loved the huge LCD screen that was laid out in across the stage in three different areas. I was afraid at first because usually they seem so karaoke like, but in this case it was not so. I liked that they played bits of old Wham and George Michael videos in between. It brought back a lot of memories and also reminded me of how old I am. Bleech. But anyways waking up this morning I thought wistfully that I wished I could see him perform again. That instantly told me that I would give this concert a HUGE thumbs up!
